What The Folk!
What The Folk! was started by Sarah Larkin as a pandemic livestream to entertain and stay connected to fans and friends stuck at home in early 2020. I soon joined and we went live daily experimenting with new songs and taking requests from our viewers. What started as an online gift has evolved into a live duo project that performs at venues throughout Northern California. To quote from our band bio ‘Their live shows feature Larkin’s evocative singing and songwriting, Tyson’s instrumental dexterity, and a mix of Americana covers incorporating vocal harmony, humor and relaxed vibes. These two aim to share an uplifting musical experience and bring joy to their audiences.’

Audio Production
I am ready to provide audio engineering and audio gear for all of my projects — and for all of your projects! I use a pair of QSC K12.2 for my main speakers and a mix of QSC and EV monitor wedges. I can provide sound reinforcement for up to a six-piece band, and have a variety of microphones including a full drum kit mic package. I pride myself on flexibility and good vibes. I want the musicians to sound great in the room and on stage, and I bring a good attitude to help them have a great time on stage.

Jon Tyson recently did sound for The Mermen at a beautiful outdoor venue in Big Sur. Jon was extremely attentive to all of our needs. He has a great ear for sound. Even with the lack of subs in the main system, he was able to produce a powerful, clean and rich sound. Our monitor mixes were great, and the front of house sounded amazing according to our longtime fans. Some stated “That was the best The Mermen ever sounded!”
